| You may have seen the big hit that a Ravens player laid on Eagles punter Sav Rocca in Week 1 of the pre-season.
Rocca is from Australia - he played Aussie Rules for many years. But in all of the highlights I've seen, everyone has pronounced it "Ro-cah". That's not right! It's "rock-a".
Sorry, this small thing just annoys me. Carry on. :)

| Max, there are plenty of American names these guys continue to screw up every week too. All you can do is hope one day they get corrected. I am soooo sick of Bears fans that say Robbie Goooold. It's pronounced Robbie Gold...as in the precious metal. Just ask him. | |

| Yeah, a lot of announcers pronounce Robbie's name like the world ghoul with a 'd' at the end of it.
We went to Western with an offensive guard for the Giants Rich Suebert (pronounce soy-burt).
Ask John Madden how to pronounce that.
Simmons and I watched a game where we were thrilled that he was talking about Rich, but he pronounced his name at least six different ways throughout the game.
Soburt, Soooburt, Seeburt, Sweeburt, you get the idea.
It's what Bill Simmons from espn.com would like to call a 10 on the unintentional comedy scale. Funny stuff.....irritating, but funny.

I would disagree with that. you watch more than me when it comes Bears, but I've watched just about all of them and I can't remember the last time an announcer has gotten it wrong. It's much worse. It's the fans that just keep saying "Ghoul"-d. It drives me absolutely nuts. Know your damn team! It's not that hard.

the announcers are all fans of StarGate and they must think Robbie is a kicker-god wanna be

| And since we're on the subject of pronunciation, it's pronounced "guy-check." Eric "Guy-check."
Seriously guys, how hard is that?!
