Subject: YouTube Tue Jul 31, 2007 1:24 am

I was just wrapping up my lunch hour and was surfing the web a bit and found a link to a bunch of clips of Devin Hester's Kickoff return to open Super Bowl XLI.

A lot of that stuff is hilarious. There is this one in particular where this guy, who is watching the game by himself, is video taping his television and absolutley FREAKS OUT when Hester breaks it. And I don't mean got excited, I mean his voice went up eight octaves and he sounds like he was crying at the end. You can hear dogs barking in the background and everything. It's hilarious.

Okay Whit, you got me. It was pretty funny. The part I wasn't expecting was that the guy's voice already sounds like the pimply teenager from The Simpsons to begin with. But then the screaming starts up. Funny, but also, ouch.

Completely my fault. I have my earphones up kinda loud. I was listening to a podcast before I clicked the link.

haha yeah but its true i mean its not like that kinda thing happens at every superbowl ..and im not 100% sure cuz i havent been around long enough but isnt that the only time thats happened in a super bowl

I've been around even less time than you, but I think so, yeah. Opening kickoff, at least - Desmond Howard in Super Bowl XXXI took one to the house.

Devin Hester's was the first ever opening kickoff to be run back in Super Bowl History.

There had been others during the game that have taken place....several others.

Off the top of my head: Max was right, Desmond Howard in SB XXXI was one and it earned him MVP honors for the game, there were two in the Ravens/Giants SB, XXXV, back-to-back if I'm not mistaken, Super Bowl XVII between the Dolphins and Redskins featured the first one I believe. There was one in Super Bowl XXIII in the 49ers/Bengals game, Tim Dwight ran one back in the Falcons/Broncos Super Bowl, XXXIII.....I think that's all of them.

Something that Hester can make a first in this year's Super Bowl in Arizona.....first punt returned for a touchdown. To my knowledge this has yet to happen in a Super Bowl.

Hmm... I don't understand. How could Hester return a punt in this year's Super Bowl if the Bears won't be playing in it? Wink

Reading THIS just made me even more excited about the upcoming season.

Even Lovie is giddy about what this team is capable of, how can you not love that?
