| The burning question that's currently on every amateur wrestler's mind... Are steel chairs bullet proof? Please? - Quote :

Favorable reviews of Adam Sandler movies can churn the stomach... but come on. It's not that bad.

| Funny, but not quite what I meant. I forgot that I sent that little piece of information to Whit in a PM. When he got to the part of the latest episode, discussing the ending of The Simple Life, and he called Nicole Richie a "drunken whore," I was in the middle of lunch. It caught me off guard, so much so that a bit of applesauce came out of my nose. Burned something fierce. Not recommended. | |

| This has been something that has been rumored for a couple of weeks and for a bit was not going to be allowed because there is a clause in Pacman's contract that prohibits him from taking part in anything that can cause him injury outside of football.
I guess the Titans have been put to ease about what Pacman will be doing in TNA and have given the OK. Otherwise, this jackass is going against his team's wishes and doing it anyway.
As far as watching goes, I think I'll pass. I'm not a wrestling fan anymore and I never watched TNA when I was. I'll wait to see something on YouTube before I tune in.

| Oh I'll be waiting for the YouTube replay, straight out. I just thought it was funny, and sad, and kind of pathetic, which makes it funnier.
As for doing stupid non-football things that could hurt him, don't most players have those clauses? Didn't keep Ol' Ben from "accidentally" leaving his helmet in his garage, though. I figure, it's either this or another strip club shooting; which would you prefer?

| I think strip club shootings would fall under the morals clause, but the Titans might want to consider it if they ever think of signing him to an extension. | |

| You know, the more I read about this, the more I think that Pacman is going to be wrestling. Maybe he signed a waiver with the Titans that gets them off the hook for paying him if he gets hurt or something like that. What I read that gave me the idea was this: - Quote :
- Pacman will be trained at his suburban Nashville home by several TNA pros. TNA co-founder and former World Champion Jeff Jarrett is among those who have already helped train Jones in the ring.
“Over the next couple of months, I think the world is going to see a different side of Pacman, one it hasn’t seen before,” Jarrett said. “You will really see his personality come out, not just his athletic ability. He’s very coachable in the ring and his athletic talent is amazing. He can watch something one time and pick it up. He’s just gifted. He’s the best all-around athlete I have ever seen.” Sounds like he WILL be getting into the ring and mixing it up in TNA. Still not gonna watch though.

| It's too bad for football that Pacman can't see that his "homies" are only out for themselves. Instead of distancing himself from the bad element, he embraced them and now finds himself on the outside looking in. All that talent and no outlet for it now...so sad | |

| Same thing goes for Mike Vick as well. Too bad he couldn't find out about that before the "every man for himself" scrum that is taking place now. Vick is looking at a 6 to 1 disadvantage now that all of his friends have made deals to testify against him.
But as the old saying goes, "With friends like these....."

| Difference is IMO I honestly think that Goodell was hoping that this was just going to go away because unlike Pacman Jones, Michael Vick is the face of a franchise. Yep, Vick is looking at prison time and with this new indictment on the horizon, possibly as soon as today he may be in prison a lot longer then even his attorney's anticipated. | |

| I see what you're saying, but I doubt Goodell was hoping that it would all blow over. Vick is the face of the franchise, but he's a face that was very quickly wearing out its goodwill, and that very few people liked. This wasn't, say, Peyton Manning under this federal indictment. I think that no matter what, change was on the wind anyway. Vick was low in wiggle room to begin with. This whole dogfighting bit just really jump started things.
Goodell, I believe, is trying to be fair. It would look bad if he jumped the gun and threw down a suspension without being absolutely sure of what was happening. Then he looks like a total jackass if he has to go on record with a "My bad," somewhere down the line.
Also, if you think of it in terms of Mike Vick being the face of the franchise, and someone who's been around longer, shouldn't he know better?

| Oh of course he should have known better but then every single NFL player that's ever been in trouble should know better. I'm not saying that Vick is the face like Manning is, but as far as Pacman and Vick are concerned, Pacman is expendable because people saw thug when he first came into the league, the only thing the majority of football fans knew was that Michael Vick has a stupid brother who had thug friends, Vick's conduct has been swept under the rug or at least not accentuated by Tag, the herpes incident then the bottle incident at the airport and now this, Vick has slowly but surely been working to this point and unfortunately for him, Tag retired. | |

| Vick's thugginess isn't exactly a surprise. The Ron Mexico incident was well-known (I wasn't even a serious follower of football at the time, but I knew about it). Tag didn't sweep his behavior under the rug. He simply let it lie, as he did with a lot of players' bad behavior. He had pretty big fish to fry, stabilizing things with the Players' Union and whatnot. There were things that he probably should have focused on that he didn't, which is why player behavior was so out of hand by the time he left. He knew, and he left it for Goodell.
All you really have to do to know that Michael Vick is a thug is to pay attention. He's not fooling anyone. He just hit upon something that most people are completely unwilling to overlook.
