Announcements From The Sports Talk Underground Summit

We sat down yesterday and discussed the future of our show. After about two hours of discussion, we have laid out a very specific future for each of the shows that will be featured here on the Sports Talk Underground Network.

Here's what we decided:

Sports Talk Underground:
Starting August 1st, STU returns with two shows a week for four weeks previewing each of the eight divisions in the NFL in our NFL Previews. The schedule will break down as such:
August 1st - NFC North
August 4th - AFC South
August 7th - NFC South
August 10th - AFC East
August 13th - NFC East
August 17th - AFC West
August 20th - NFC West
August 23rd - AFC North

Then we will conclude our NFL Previews with our 9th and final "The Picks That Stick" predictions show where we will be predicting division winners, playoff teams, Super Bowl winners, MVPs, Defensive MVPs, etc. That show will be released on September 2nd or 3rd to give you a few days to digest before the season kicks off on September 6th.

Once the season begins the Sports Talk Underground will still be doing shows. We will be recording on a bi-weekly schedule during the NFL season possibly starting the last week in August between the 8th and 9th preview shows or Early September. We plan on returning to weekly shows after the NFL Season, but will at the very least stick to the bi-weekly schedule. The shows will more than likely be recorded on a Thursday and released the next morning.

NFL STU Cover 32:
The Cover 32 show will be a weekly recap show where we will breakdown every matchup from the previous week of NFL action. The show is scheduled to be recorded every Tuesday and released on Wednesdays starting after Week One on September 12th.

The Ryan Simmons Show & Larry From The Underground
The future of the solo shows wasn't really discussed, so we will leave it up to each other as to the regularity that these shows are produced.

Sports Talk Underground Predictions Challenge:
A competition suggested to us by Mark (Rockhoppers) and that he has volunteered to run. More details on this after we have a chance to talk to Mark about it.

STU Fantasy Football League:
We will be running our league through NFL.com this year and have ten of twelve slots filled at the moment. If you aren't in and want in, get one of us a PM (Larry or Ryan, not the admin) and we'll get you in. The draft for the league will be Sunday August 12th at 10:30 AM Central.

SportsTalkUnderground.com:
The Sports Talk Underground has a homepage again!! It is currently under construction but will be re-launched on August 1st to coincide with the return of the show. It will then be a one stop shop for every show in the Sports Talk Underground Network (STUN). Sports Talk Underground, NFL Cover 32, The Ryan Simmons Show and Larry From The Underground will all be found there. There will also be links to other sites, blogs from the guys from time to time, fantasy standings and anything else STU related, as well as a link to the message board. So come August 1st, go to the home page before logging into the message board. If not, you just might miss something.

That covers just about everything covered in our "Summit" yesterday. Even though the weekend was clouded in controversy, the future for the Sports Talk Underground looks and is very bright. We owe that to you. Without you, there is no us; so thank you again for your continued support of our show and our new network.

Good stuff, sounds like you guys have a punishing schedule ahead come football season. I did get a bit confused - bi-weekly = every two weeks right

Correct. But with a Cover 32 out every week I think that should give you plently of stuff to listen to...I hope!
