Mock Draft Episode - The Underground Re-Unites!!

Yes folks, its true. I was able to talk Simmons out of his Chicago Rush induced retirement and back out onto the airwaves for the 4th annual Sports Talk Underground Network Mock Draft for the 2008 NFL Draft.

As always we alternated picks, Simmons taking the odds, I took the evens and made the picks as though we were the GMs of each team and making the picks we feel best suit each team. We're not trying to predict what will go down on Draft Day.

The show was broken up into two parts: Part One is picks 1-16 and Part Two is picks 17-31.

Part One is up now and Part Two will be up on Wednesday. Check them out and see what The Underground has in store for you this time!!

Well, I decided to upload Part Two so it would be in the mypodcast.com database. But instead of hitting the "save as a draft" button, I accidentally hit the "Publish Episode" button.

So Parts One and Two are up right now instead of giving Part One a few days on its own before publishing Part Two.

Oh Well.

Okay, I'm listening to Part One right now....



Did Simmons have some issues with his mic? A lot of what he says skips. There's a pretty consistent loss of about a half second every couple of seconds that he talks.

EDIT: Now I'm listening to Part Two...Never mind.

We were using Skype and recording with the Skype recorder and we found that if we went for too long our connection would start to go in and out. And even though each part sounds like one long file, they were actually done in pieces.

Part One was done in two big pieces and we learned the hard way that the connection started to fade after about ten minutes which is why Simmons start cutting in and out about halfway through Part One and again towards the end.

For Part Two, we played it more conservative. It was actually done in four smaller parts and as I am sure you can hear, we did not have the same problems as we did in Part One and it sounds a hell of a lot better.
