| Spinoff from the Grossman love-fest I can't find a list from a more reliable source, but these two seem to support each other. http://www.sbrforum.com/Headlines/NFL/52616.aspxhttp://www.sportscapperisland.com/forum/general-discussions/20460.phpSF has a crazy number of captains... a quarter of their damn team! They're the feel good everyone gets to bat little league teams of the NFL. Teams without starting QBs as captains: Arizona Atlanta Chicago Cleveland Houston Kansas City Oakland Pittsburgh (wow) San Francisco (Dilfer... but no Smith?) I was going to make a connection between successful teams and low number of captains, but KC totally boned that up. Indy, Cincinnati, Houston and KC have just 3 captains. - Quote :

| Okay, 14 team captains is a bit much. That's half their problem right there. Also, you know you suck when your backup is chosen as a captain and not you. Ouch! I can't believe I didn't remember John Thornton. I love that guy! - Quote :
- Teams without starting QBs as captains:
... Pittsburgh (wow) You know, I'm not all that surprised by that. In all of Roethlisburger's interviews this season, he's been talking about how he's really starting to work on taking more responsibility on his offensive line. Only now, in his fourth season, is he starting to take on responsibilities that other QBs start picking up practically right away? He never did strike me as particularly bright. I don't think I would have wanted him as my captain either.

| The whole "C" patch is stupid anyways. Why would football ever take an idea from hockey.
What exactly does the patch signify, the players know who the real captains are, they are the ones who speak up in the locker room and whom the rookies look to for advice and leadership.
At least their patches aren't as ridiculous as the "C" patch that Varitek was wearing/is wearing for the Red Sox, that thing was huge.
