Results from the first division series:
MVP Baseball PS2 Simulation Nlds_210

MVP Baseball PS2 Simulation Chi_6910 1

MVP Baseball PS2 Simulation Ari_kf10 3

As simulated with the computer playing the two teams on MVP 2005 with the updated rosters.

Game 1
Chicago - 5
Arizona - 11
W - Webb
L - Zambrano

Game 2
Chicago - 1
Arizona - 9
W - Davis
L - Lilly

Game 3
Arizona - 3
Chicago - 8
W - Eyre
L - L. Hernandez

Game 4
Arizona - 10
Chicago - 9
W - Owings
L - Zambrano
S - Valverde

I followed the pitching matchups as the team newspaper websites suggested. DeRosa had a couple big hits. Orlando Hudson and Chris Young had huge series for Arizona. The Cubs had the bases loaded in Game 4 with 2 outs and Daryle Ward struck out to end the series.

Boston-Anaheim next.

The simulation continues, if only for my own entertainment. :) I'm thinking there's definitely gonna be some differences in the real playoffs.

Game 1

Game 2

Cleveland - 9

Game 3
Cleveland - 9
New York - 1

Game 4
Cleveland - 6
New York - 7

Game 5
New York - 5
Cleveland - 4

Simulations are obviously not taking into account certain matchups. The coach will make pitching changes at different times. I personally think the Indians will win the series against the Yankees. I had them winning the World Series at the beginning of the season. I'm sticking by that.

Sim. League Championship Series:
NL - Arizona vs. Philadelphia
AL - New York vs. Anaheim

I picked the Red Sox to win the World Series this year so I'm still sitting pretty.......I had them playing the Dodgers but whatever. At least the team I picked to win it, is still in it right?

And I would agree with you statement that the real playoffs and your sim were going to be a bit different considering three of the four teams that you have in the Championship Series' are on the brink of elimination.

I had the Dodgers representing the NL, too. Hard to foresee injuries and the Rockies going insane.

Angels and D'backs in the World Series. Angels being banged up in reality might have something to do with them being down 2-0 against Boston.

There you have it. Pointless but fun sim.

The Angels have a bunch of guys not hurt but nagging things...however, they win the simulation when players are considered "full health" so maybe that says something about their talent level.

I think I did sim the Cards/Tigers last season too and the Tigers swept or won in 5...so it just shows how unpredictable the game is.
