| Looks like my prediction is coming true
[quote]I know I'm a complete homer, but this year they bounce back, the Saints were a flash in the pan, and the NFC South title is coming back home to Charlotte. 11-5 and another appearance in the NFC title game, I'd be a little nervous predicting further than that for them.[quote]
Not one offensive touchdown, and there were lucky to get the defensive one that they did. Peyton was obviously a little pissed at Jason David, so torched his free agent leaving ass. know I'm a complete homer, but this year they bounce back, the Saints were a flash in the pan, and the NFC South title is coming back home to Charlotte. 11-5 and another appearance in the NFC title game, I'd be a little nervous predicting further than that for them.[quote]

| Don't break your arm patting yourself on the back just yet there, Nostradamus. It was one game; the first game of the season, no less. It's a little premature to start declaring your prediction true. If they still look like this four or five weeks in, then you might be onto something. I'll admit that I took the Saints to win this game. I took a risk, whatever. I at least thought it would be close. That was disappointing. I declared that game over and done by the middle of the third quarter. The Saints looked completely unnerved, and rather out of step with one another. Hopefully they'll get it together. | |

| The Saints are going to be just fine. I was surprised I ended up with Carolina in the playoffs. I don't see them winning that the division still, but really who the hell knows when it comes to the NFL. | |

| all right, enough with the "Aints" moniker...I thought we were past that... This was an absolute embarrassment on every end of the spectrum for the Saints, and I as a fan was embarrassed. I've already gotten the "one game" talk from even my own fanbase, and I think I was on the verge of being kicked out of it for being so ashamed on that Thursday night. But if it were YOUR team getting torched like that on national TV, I think you'd be hanging your head too. So many emoticons to choose from... sums it up. | |

| The thing that I can take away from that game is that the Saints continue to show nothing positive was done to make their secondary better. Jason David isn't someone that's going to turn it around. That will also be the worst game he plays all year, so it can only get better.
Will Smith was handled for the most part by rookie Tony Ugoh as well. That was kind of a head scratcher for me. It just kind of felt like the Saints gave up when the going got tough early in the second half. Bush and McAllister looked like the only guys out there giving it there all and there was never any where to run. This is probably the toughest game on their schedule and they get to play the NFC South. They'll be fine.

| The Saints are losers. Mark my words. They will go 7-9 this year. | |

| Not only that, their defense is very slow still. They have no speed at linebacker, that's for sure. While they can be physical, Shanle, Simoneau and Fujita, unless used in the right package, are gonna get burned. Fujita's probably their best tackler there.
Secondary is a major issue. Still. I'm very disappointed the Saints couldn't do a better job of grabbing a FA out there. Jason David reminds me of Dale Carter, sans the drug abuse. although after as many times as he got burned, a bender may be on the way.
I saw the same problems on defense I saw last year; not enough pressure on the QB, and way too susceptible to giving up the big play. Against a high flying offense like the Colts, that's going to KILL you, as shown already.
What really worries me is the offensive game plan they had, and the inability to adjust by Payton. He needs to realize that running the ball is your friend, and sets up those beautiful play actions they executed so well last year.

| W_Z you bring game to this board. Something that is needed from time to time on here. Allow myself to introduce myself, I am bob wiley. I will criticize anything so buck up for my ride of hell.
One positive was I thought Olindo Mare was an upgrade for the Saints.

| i think it's safe to say peyton manning is the best quarterback in the nfl right now. the saints hung tough but showed that the nfc is still light years behind the afc. the chargers will prove this more on sunday. | |

I love the show personally, the character's actually one of the minor ones but i just love his presence. it's on NBC thursdays, after "The Office", another one of my favorites. It's not for everybody, but I like it alot; it's basically about a sketch comedy show, and it's set up in a sitcom format.

I didn't think Bush looked good at all, even when there was some daylight. The one play that sticks in my mind was a 2nd and long. Bush had a nice head of steam going into a single tackler that was standing on the first down line... and he stops to dance. Welcome to 3rd and two, Nancy.

| True. I remember that play. I guess it looked like those two were at least playing with some type of urgency that I felt most of the Saints lacked. | |
