| 1. Pats lose in the divisional round against the Jags... Don Shula still wields a lot of power in the NFL. He was cool with the Pats having an undefeated regular season, but NOT undefeated Super Bowl champs.
2. The Super Bowl will be populated with two wild card teams. Jags v. Skins.

| I would love to see Jacksonville take New England down. Unfortunately, I do think that if Jacksonville were to make it to the AFC Championship game, it more than likely means a trip to Indy to take on the Colts, a team they have lost to twice this year. The Colts just seem to be that team that the Jags just can't get past. I would be shocked if they got past the Colts if they had to go to Indy.
I would however take them if it was San Diego that they had to beat to get to the Super Bowl.
And you're right Drake, the NFC will be represented by a Wild Card team.....Seattle.

| Larry, are you assuming that Tennessee will beat San Diego? Because if not, Jacksonville, being a wildcard would go to NE in the divisional round. Jax (5) would play at NE (1) and SD (3) would play at Indy (2).
And yes, Dave, I see Jacksonville beating New England (except that Belichik is tremendous when given two weeks to prepare) and being extremely hard for Indy to beat, but if Jax does beat NE, Indy will beat them and (a little surprisingly) go back to the Super Bowl.
I do like the Skins in the NFC for the first round... just not sure after that. They really could beat the Cowboys again in the divisional round, but then Green Bay? Well... was tough the first time around... who knows?
My prediction? Indy vs Green Bay ... Green Bay and Brett Favre complete the magical season with a Super Bowl victory!

I know all of this. But Dave was saying he thinks that Jacksonville can knock off New England in the second round. And if they did, that means they go to the AFC Title game, where I think Indy will be waiting for them. That's what I was saying. I wasn't saying Jacksonville would be playing New England in the AFC Title game. - BBR-Greg wrote:

I am not a believer in either Dallas or Green Bay. Neither has been playing good football down the stretch, Dallas especially. And I think Seattle is the team that no one is talking about right now. Especially since the Giants gave New England such a tough game this past weekend and Washington clinched with a good looking win over number one Dallas. Seattle clinched a few weeks ago and haven't been talked about, they're old news. I've seen them play a few times this year and I just like what they are doing and I think that they will do it better than anyone else in the NFC......then get murdered in the Super Bowl by whomever is left standing there.

| I think Seattle has been playing some good football, but Alexander is a shell of his former MVP self...
With that said they are beatable by other good teams. They play in a weak division. We will see this weekend.
Go Skins :) | |

| Holy hell I thought I was going to go 0-2 today and at times I was in danger of doing just that. But Seattle settled down and closed on Washington. Then Jacksonville scared the piss out of me by blowing a 28-10 lead before winning it in the final minute. Man I thought they were gonna blow that one.
Tomorrow's early game is the true wild card game for me because I have no idea which Giants team is going to show up and I'm anxious to see if Tampa will be ready or rusty. San Diego/Tennessee, I will be shocked if it's close. The Chargers are on fire right now and Tennessee could be missing as many as five starters including Vince Young.
Should be over early. | |
