Show 3.02 - August 14

Yeah, we're planning to record a show either Sunday or Monday night, and yes... we read e-mails on the show. (Only the good ones, though )

BillsDuffMan has one question. Who has been the Bills best tight end since Jay Riemersma left us? BillsDuffMan misses that guy.

BillsDuffMan is my new favorite poster. How long will you go talking about yourself in the third person? You need a Bills or BBR logo on that guy.

We really haven't eh? I mean... there have been a parade of folks through here... perhaps Mark Campbell was a decent attempt at a similar TE. But we just haven't been able to use our TEs as TEs because they had to be a sixth lineman with the quality of our other OL guys... very sad.

Robert Royal started to emerge as part of the passing game near the end of last year. And, the Bills really like Neufeld, Cieslak as TE/HB guys. Can catch, block, or even carry out of the backfield. I like Derek Schouman. The rookie. He could be a combo of all those guys.

We'll see. Reimersma was awesome. As was Metzelaars. And remember Butch Rolle? Mr. Touchdown! :)

Flutie to Riemersma...ahh those were the days of me loving to watch the Bills.

I like Pete Metzelaars when he was with the Bills. He was the ugliest damn football player I ever laid eyes on and I loved it. Wasn't he missing teeth too? Just added to the fun for me. He had the red mullet going on, kind of a cromagnon chin thing happening.....not a handsome man.

But he looked like a football player dammit!!

I like it when Tim Russert talks about the Bills on "Meet the Press". He gets all caught up in it and whatever politician is on usually just looks at him like he's lost his mind...partly because he's Tim Russert and he looks sort of like an elf when he laughs, but it's still funny.

Well, better the Bills than the Giants, right? I just got on your good side I bet.

Yes, nice to have Bills fans in high places.

Also, while Metzelaars may have been (is?) ugly... he was such a "secret weapon" for Kelly. He caught a LOT of passes... just knew how to get open over the middle, and always got enough for the first down, and most importantly... had great hands. He was the best Bills TE that I have seen play.

BillsDuffMan is hoping BBR returns to his iPod soon.

Oh hey... suppose since this thread was started, I could update y'all...

Dave's plane gets in late tonight, and we are headed to Bills training camp, not back till 10... that's not a time that Dave likes to do the show. :-) Plus he's been gone for almost two weeks...

I believe, like many others, that J.P “Wheels” Losman is going to have a break out year this year. I think the thing that worried me the most about the Saints game was that Reggie Bush ran through our defense like late-night Taco Bell through a rich person.

Overall the Bills looked sloppy, but not the kind of sloppy where you write the season off now, the kind where you know it was just getting the cobwebs out. Would have liked to see more of the running game.

Let me ask you all a question, if you were to buy a Bills jersey today, who would you buy (must be a current Bill)?

Being a former linemen myself, I'd like to go with an offensive or defensive linemen's jersey because a man my size would look silly sporting a #7 JP Losman jersey. But since you guys have a bunch of no names on your lines, I'll go with LB Paul Posluzsny, whatever number he wears.

And as for my Buffalo Bills current player jersey. Hmm....You know, I think I'd go good ol' #30 Ko Simpson. I really liked that pick last year and think he'll continue to improve. How's that for a non-Bills fan?
